Advanced Aerospace Design Reverse Engineering Workshop

Welcome to the page of the reverse engineering workshops. These are a set of courses that are aimed to teach aerospace design principles in the context of advanced vehicle architectures. This includes reverse engineering an existing design, which we define as the perturbation of an existing design towards a modified requirement so as to give a different mission performance.

We have previously run versions of these courses in the UK and in the US. The aim over the few days duration is to given an overview of different vehicle systems placed within the context of spacecraft design, although we might also discuss aircraft design a little too since the skills are applicable to both.

Below lists the sort of subjects that will be covered on the course curriculum

Who should apply?

Anyone with an interest in aerospace vehicle design. Since the course does use some mathematics, physics and engineering a basic knowledge of all three is desirable. You can still attend if you wan to learn, since there is a role for everyone in the team activities, but your ability to calculate will be limited although can be completed by others in your team. During the workshop there will be a series of focussed lectures followed by team exercises where you work together on a change requirement for a given design.

If you wish to attend, simply sign up below and follow the instructions.
